Bombardier CS300 Completed First Flight

Bombardier’s newest member of its single-aisle commercial planes, the CS300, has successfully completed its first flight. The CS300 is joining it’s smaller sister, the CS100 model that already completed the maiden flight in September 2013.

The Bombardier CSeries is an all-new family of single-aisle jets designed for the 100- to 150-seat market segment. The CS300 aircraft is going to support a range of routes from short-haul to longer transcontinental markets.

The CS100 aircraft is planned to get certified in the second half of 2015, followed closely by entry-into-service. The CS300 airliner is expected to follow about six months later.

Bombardier has secured orders and commitments for 563 CSeries aircraft, which include firm orders for 243 CSeries airliners – 63 CS100 & 180 CS300. Firm orders comprise of airlines such as Lufthansa (SWISS), Gulf Air, Korean Air, airBaltic, Iraqi Airways, SaudiGulf Airlines.
