My good friend, Scott, and I were ramp-rats for a contract company at LAX many years ago. We had a great time loading heavy metal, with one contract being Korean Airlines. As we enjoyed our job, we also enjoyed overtime, and thought we were going to have a late night when we saw the mechanics backing up a platform truck to the tail end of the 747-200.
We asked the Korean mechanic what the problem was, and in a heavy accent, he quickly replied, "Ah...prane no go right." Thinking there was a problem with the rudder, we assumed a long delay.
But our dreams of a big paycheck were dashed when we saw all they did was replace a burnt out "logo light" to illuminate the tail.
