Japan Airlines (JAL) today retired their last two Boeing 747-400s. The first 747 (747-100) was delivered to JAL in 1970, the first 747-400 in 1990. Japan Airlines operated a total of 112 747s, including 44 747-400s.
JAL is currently undergoing a fleet modernization process, focusing on Boeing 767, 777 and 787.
